Edwina Corlette Gallery is delighted to present an exhibition of works, one by each of its represented artists, to mark the tenth anniversary of the gallery. Opened in 2008 at the beginning of the Global Financial Crisis, the gallery set about offering Brisbane a fresh space to view the work of up and coming artists from across Australia.
In the past decade several of the gallery’s represented artists have gone on to win prestigious awards including the Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship (Amber Wallis, Belem Lett, Lucy O’Doherty, Sally Anderson), been acquired by the National Gallery of Australia (Mark Whalen), Queensland Art Gallery and the Gallery of Modern Art (Vipoo Srivilasa), the Parliament House Collection in Canberra, the University of Queensland Art Museum and Artbank, as well as significant state and regional museums and corporate and private collections throughout Australia, Asia and the Middle East.
Several of the gallery’s artists have won or been finalists in the Archibald and Wynne Prizes administered by the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Paddington Art Prize and the Gold Award amongst many, many other others and their work has been exhibited in international, national, state and regional museums.
