25 YEARS: The Ipswich Art Gallery Foundation celebrates the Foundation’s 25th anniversary with a large-scale exhibition that highlights its significant contribution to the Gallery’s collection. Founded in 1997, the Ipswich Arts Foundation, as it was known, managed the funds to refurbish the Ipswich town hall into a new gallery. Over the past 25 years the Foundation has raised 7 million dollars in funds and donations to contribute over 1300 paintings, photographs, sculptures, and historic items to the Gallery’s collection.

Featuring the Foundation’s recent gift of Patricia with fruit and flowers 1965 by Margaret Olley, this exhibition takes visitors on a journey from early historical representations of Ipswich to significant works of contemporary Australian art. Featuring over 100 artworks, artists include Isaac Walter Jenner, John Baird, Ellis Rowan, Bessie Gibson, George Lambert, Hugh Ramsay, Elioth Gruner, Vida Lahey, Max Dupain, William Robinson, Ray Crooke, Sam Fullbrook, Gwyn Hanssen Pigott, Bill Henson, Patricia Piccinini, Jan Nelson, Sam Jinks amongst others.
