Shape Of Words brings together three visual artists working with text, influenced by a common origin; twenty five years ago they met as students at the QUT Painting and Sculpture studios. They’ve since developed independent practices in various fields of the visual arts while retaining links with their original disciplines. David Parker is a jeweller and painter, he runs a successful jewellery business on the sunshine Coast. Albion artist Barbara Penrose is well known for her public art and studio practice with numerous commissions in the CBD. Nameer Davis’ paintings hang in public collections in the Brisbane region, he lives and works in Albion and is a tutor in painting and drawing at the BIA. The show is being developed as a touring exhibition with venues being negotiated.
