Brisbane artist Kathryn Brimblecombe-Fox presents an exhibition of paintings which explore new perspectives revealed by contemporary cosmological research, the study of the Universe. By taking the viewer away from Earth she subtly suggests that new perspectives demand a review of how we conceive ‘landscape’. By untethering notions of ‘landscape’ from Earth we not only see the planet differently, we also open up new perspectives of ourselves. Indeed, new ways of seeing may provide insights into better and more innovative ways to sustain life and the planet.

The paintings in COSMIC ADDRESS traverse a vast array of ideas from time travel to post-apocalyptic scenarios to the Big Bang and more.
