pack your bags ladies and gentlemen; it’s time to get going. there’s no stopping for folks like you and me in times like these. no knowing who’s listening, tread lightly: the weirdos are coming.
brisbane based emerging artist anya swan creates vignettes of sculptures, paintings, and drawings. working from the construction and deconstruction of interpersonal narratives, swan seeks to capture the idiosyncrasies that emerge from humanity’s attempts to have fixed lens interpretations on often absurd realities. it boils down to communication, disconnect and ways of finding meaning and, by colluding translated snippets of the world, swan aims to speak something of the obscure rituals and worships that people create to fill the space.
