Join Melbourne-based curator Laura Castagnini in a discussion about Feminism and Art. Laura will also be mentoring Level’s 2013 Emerging Curator in Residence, Lisa Bryan-Brown.
Laura Castagnini is a curator and writer whose research interests include feminist art histories and their current articulations, performance art, photography and collaborative practices. Recent curatorial projects include BACKFLIP: Feminism and Humour in Contemporary Art (2012-13), which comprised a public lecture by the Guerrilla Girls, and a major group exhibition at Margaret Lawrence Gallery (Victorian College of the Arts). She has published a number of catalogue essays and articles about contemporary art and worked at a range of art institutions, including Anna Pappas Gallery in Melbourne and as an intern at Elizabeth A. Sackler Centre for Feminist Art (Brooklyn Museum), as well as MOMA PS1 in New York. She is a graduate from the 2012 Gwangju Biennale International Curator Course and a current Master of Arts candidate at the University of Melbourne.
