Three local artists play ‘shop’ on James Street. Join in for a night of scintillating performance as the three collaborators of Propriety Limited invite guests to participate in an interactive show at the cultural and commercial nexus that is the James Street Precinct.
Following capitalist theory, Shop Pty Ltd investigates some of the systems we participate in on a daily basis. By engaging in a series of activities, guests can earn credit, giving them the opportunity to trade within the micro economy of the experiment. Commerce, culture and social performance will be reexamined, resulting in a platform of exchange where, in accordance to the capitalist law of supply and demand, participants will determine the value of real life commodities. We have the pleasure of announcing that IMA President and Director of the MLT Initiative for the James Street Precinct, Marie-Louise Theile will be opening the show. Trading begins at 6pm.
