Deadline:

WHEN : 26th Sep – 15th Oct
WHERE : Brisbane Powerhouse

Near is an on going portrait of Katrin Koenning’s family that journeys into the complexities and challenges of love
and belonging.

Spanning over years, this work is a quiet narrative on the passing of time. The family’s story is common to the 21st century – they are spread across four countries; torn apart and thrown together by migration.

They are architects, engineers, carpenters, social workers, animators, filmmakers and dreamers. Together they’ve been through cancer and suicide.

Voted Australia’s Top Emerging Documentary Photographer for 2011 (Capture Magazine), Katrin’s work has been exhibited widely and published in places such as The Guardian and The New York Times.
