Artists : Darcy Williams and Rose Manning
“Breaking up and Breaking down” is the first show that combines Manning and Williams’ work in one space and exhibits previously unseen work from both artists.
In this exhibition the state of the individual post break-up is examined through the lens of painting. Williams explores coping mechanisms and a state of removed disbelief through figurative self portraiture and abstract fabric paintings. Manning uses painting as a means of learning from her previous relationship and looks at dealing with being alone as a constant theme.
