In this workshop you will learn how to create image transfers from a paper matrix using a solvent transfer method. Solvent transfer allows you release an image from a toner photocopy to anything smooth and receptive – fine art papers, wood, and even some fabrics. This workshop will focus on transferring to printmaking papers and wood.
The capabilities of toner photocopies will be explored by using drawings, photographs, and sketchbook imagery to create your paper plate, and participants will be shown how to apply these techniques with an etching press and methods for application by hand.
Please contact instructor regarding any sensitivities to acetone, eucalyptus oil, citrus oils, or xylene, which may be used in small quantities during the workshop.
