A retrospective celebrating forty years of works by local artist Dean Cogle, including paintings, designs and illustrations that capture the Gold Coast’s iconic lifestyle.
Synonymous with coastal culture, his work embodies themes of place, memory, and identity. Dean’s photo-real representations of 50s fibro-culture and 70s walk-ups, breezeways and tessellated brickwork are born of astute observation and sensitivity to place.
The works reflect his architectural interests, as well as personal narratives and popular culture.
Dean Cogle: Beyond Nostalgia is a free exhibition on display in HOTA Foyer Gallery from 11 May – 30 Jun 2019.
