A Wider Sphere – ITHINK ISEE IDEA

Deadline:

Onespace Gallery

A Wider Sphere – ITHINK ISEE IDEA is Glen Henderson’s visual exploration across media which coincides with her investigatory interest in major cultural change.   With the internet being the most transformative technological development in human history, machines can now provide different channels of communication when it comes to visual art. Glen Henderson will engage the audience by challenging ‘how we look at art’ through digital videos, painting,  original digital print compositions, constructed form, drawing and diagrams  with handwritten text. On entering the exhibition space, the responsive eye of each viewer is drawn to one point. The viewer then freely moves in any direction at any speed as they explore and re-explore the inter-relatedness of meaning through the visual elements of form, colour, tone, line and direction within the space. ‘Looking’ then becomes ‘seeing’.

Artist Statement – A Wider Sphere:
I have drawn from encounters commenced from childhood, each a new experience that surprised and inspired curiosity. Hearing jazz for the first time, investigating nature, architectural space and discovering physics. After a whole of life incubation such awakenings are absorbed as language, becoming joy and ‘the zest of idea’. The human brain responds with curiosity to creatively explore ideas; in nature, the sciences, music and architecture. Such is the nature and process of creativity. In both the arts and the sciences it is the same cognitive software that generates exquisite tensions to inspire a challenging future across ‘A Wider Sphere’.
