Wreckers Artspace

Bench Space is an exhibition of new still life paintings by Cosima Scales.

A spoon, a piece of cake, a glass of wine; I’m drawn to the dark sliver where a slice of fruit meets the tabletop, and the modulated yellows of a block of cheese. I like scratchy paint marks suggesting the grain of a wooden surface. I like the red grooves at the mouth of a cut paw-paw. These mundane things, tenderly observed, are the subjects of this group of works.

Opening: 6pm Wed 29th May
Exhibition open: 1&2 June – times TBA
