In conjunction with the opening of the touring exhibition ‘Connections’ at the State Library of Queensland, artist Glen Skien will conduct a Masterclass for practising artists. The workshop looks at the exhibition thematic ‘Connection’ and explores narratives that emerge from the artworks on display in the exhibition. This provides the starting point for individual exploration, reflection and response through the participant’s own art making in the workshop. Participants will learn a variety of skills and processes in a number of print and collage techniques that will be used to create a journal stitch artist book. Participants are encouraged to bring along their own resource material that may include photographs, old prints, rice papers, fabric off-cuts etc.
