Opening Event: With Love

With Love is a solo exhibition by emerging interdisciplinary artist Emily Puxty which seeks to consider how photography and sculpture can be used to relay the implicit vulnerability and intimacy of shared early adult experience. By observing the way intimacy is conveyed through the interaction between the body, space and the self, the work investigates modes of personal storytelling and aspects of the lived experience by similarly exploring the interaction between opposing mediums.
Through the combination of ceramic and photographic works, Puxty considers how the retelling of these experiences can be communicated through the intuitive arrangement of image and vessel in a large installation. This bodily task dwells on the ways in which works connect and react to one another, while reflecting on how the act of making can be translated as an an act of love.
