Deadline:

The Third Quarter

‘Landmarks’ stand as points of reference establishing a connection to place – locating us. Whether they are man-made or natural; iconic or arbitrary; repurposed, anonymous or unclaimed, these artworks present as an eclectic summation of a navigation through a localised urban environment.

They serve as signifiers of a quasi-archaeological paradigm that fluctuates across time. Each work stands outside the perspective of the mainstream of understanding and choreographed into a new reading, acting not just as locators in a particular place but as provocateurs of the paradigm in which they exist, a “Third Place”.

Fleming shares “I am no scientist; my works are not premised on science or maths but I delight in using colour to fabricate the illusion of space and form – a “Third Place” that declares I AM HERE”.

Exhibition opening Friday Feb 21, 6 – 9pm
