The Maximilian is an international online platform and publication that will publish in-depth discussion around art and theory, culture and philosophy. Our overarching ethos is one of ‘deep vs. broad’: we aim not to simply expand upon the surface of our cultural landscape, but rather to pin-point specific ideas and delve deep. We encourage writing that focuses with intensity and purpose upon a particular concern, deepening thought and discussion upon the topic.
Formats of writing may include essays, extended exhibition reviews, or conversation pieces. Writing and media outside of these categories are also welcomed. We are interested in writing that takes a particular topic as a starting point to delve deep into a particular social, political, artistic, philosophical, or cultural concern.
Submission requirements

• Previous examples of work (up to three)
• CV (one page)
