WHERE Jugglers Art Space
Urban Art Binge (UAB) is an Artist-Run-Initiative created by Emily Fong and Joannah Underhill with the aim of providing a platform for accessing creative inspiration in everyday life for everybody.
To this end, UAB is currently running a series of workshops, based at Juggler’s Art Space, and inspired by the urban and natural environment, that document the idea of ‘place’. The workshops seek to connect, teach and build your essential skills around drawing and painting while also strengthening the voice of Brisbane’s vibrant, creative community.
This year’s project is being run in six-week blocks of creative juiciness that will culminate in an exhibition at the end of the year. The exibition will include works by all participants (that means you) in both physical and digital format, uncovering and showcasing Brisbane’s talent (you again, yes really, YOU!).
Each week we will be working in a new location in Brisbane with the intention of creating a visual ‘map’ that, as a living project, breathes new life into how we see Brisbane, cool huh? Watch it grow daily on the Binge Blog where you and other Bingers will be able to upload your sketches and works in progress from wherever you are.
Out of your participation in the Urban Art Binge six-week workshop you will create at least one finished work developed from preparatory sketches through to resolution using drawing and mixed-media approaches. Your skill-set will be super-charged all the way up to awesome!
Each six-week block offers 3 contact sessions per week, one evening studio session and two optional on-site sketching sessions (all inclusive). Studio sessions may increase toward the end of the block depending on the needs of the group. See the coming calendar for the workshop program. As a little help, we would like to offer a 10% early-bird discount for bookings made 4 weeks in advance or more, Yippeee.
