SCOTT MCDOUGALL

In these Covid-19 times, Scott’s travels have been somewhat curtailed and he has been inspired to look at landscapes closer to home. His neighbourhood of the Tweed Valley has provided a wealth of subject matter to paint – both in flora and fauna, from the bushfire ravaged hillsides to the regeneration of the green valley that is so well known and loved with Mt Warning (Wollumbin) at its core.

AI SHAH

Ai Shah’s passion is to paint water, capturing its movement, depth, colours, reflections, mood and tranquillity. Ai Shah trained under painter Marcel Desbiens for several years after moving from Japan to Australia. In 2010, she won the inaugural Lethbridge 10000 art award with ‘Suns Swimming with Lillies’. Since then she has been showing her paintings annually at Lethbridge Gallery in Paddington, as well as exhibiting her work at art fairs in Sydney, Melbourne, San Diego and Hong Kong.

My passion is to paint tranquillity.  Water is my favourite element. When observing water, I am sometimes able to experience a brief moment of tranquillity.  The surrounding sound becomes subtler and subtler as if nature is playing her song ‘pianissimo’.  I hope the viewer can enjoy listening to the quiet song that nature creates.” Ai Shah

JOHN MORRIS

Intricately carved from wood by his skilled hand, John’s sculptures explore an ongoing fascination with human form and anatomy; deconstructed, modified, and added to. Contrasting elements of biological, geometrical and mechanical work harmoniously together as he explores the space between the second and third dimensions, incorporating drawing in to his sculptures.
