Expanding Jewellery delivers ways of viewing body-object relationships and experiences. When objects are worn on the body they are activated, becoming a performance which highlights the spatial awareness and the intimate void between the self and the rest of the world. The role of the body gives the objects context and relativity in space.
Vivien Bedwell is a Master of Visual Arts (Research) candidate at the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University working and researching in the field of contemporary jewellery and sculptural objects.
Vivien is a keen observer of body movement, with a natural curiosity about human connections and the obscure. Accordingly, Vivien endeavours to interpret different spaces, particularly intimate spaces at the interface of the body that are discrete.
