From 1971–1994, Warren Palmer was a lecturer at Kelvin Grove Teacher’s Training College (now QUT) in the disciplines of ceramics, painting and life drawing. Defying classification, this survey exhibition features 4 decades of his unique sculptures.

“Palmer is a multi-faceted artist, but at least at one level he is a surrealist. He works with juxtaposition and decontextualisation. Of course I must mention that he also is a very fine and often very witty draftsman but this exhibition is of his sculpture. His sculptures are collages. The ceramics – my first link with him – is still there in places, along with commercial glassware, toys, discarded items from everyday use, assembled and decorated with maybe glaze, maybe paint, even occasionally printing techniques, and not infrequently drawing.” – Glen O’Malley
