Silenced in the Shadows (photographed by Dan Molloy, curated by Ella Ganza, the founder of The Runway Movement) is a series of strikingly raw photographs portraying the emotional internal battle that LGBTIQ+ Pacific Islander and Indigenous people often face.
These intimate portraits, featuring members of The Runway Movement, explore and represent the reality of living in silence due to their sexuality and gender identity, alongside the fear of being ostracised and abandoned by their loved ones.
This project/exhibition is aimed at raising awareness of homophobia and transphobia within the LGBTIQ+ community, with a specific focus on those of Pacific Islander and Indigenous heritage and the impact that this has on their lives.
