Popoco ‘Little Memos’ is a debut exhibition by Yuiko Uto.

Popoco was born in a memo. Her stories act as mementos in the life of Japanese-born Brisbane artist Yuiko Uto.

Yuiko’s works of Popoco show that life is full of surprises, sadness, curiosity and joy. She takes inspiration from her anime character idols and life growing up in Japan through the 80’s and 90’s.

After more than a decade of living life as memos in countless notebooks, Popoco will provide an adult’s eye view of Yuiko’s childhood experiences for all to enjoy in Yuiko’s debut solo exhibition in Brisbane.

Address: Spotti Clogg Gallery – downstairs @ Scrumptious Reads, 92 Arthur Terrace, Red Hill, QLD 4059
