James Barth is a visual artist who primarily works within painting, photography, and digital media. Barth’s practice is an ongoing play and formal exploration of photo-painting and self-portraiture. Thematically their work investigates transgender self-representation and image production, focusing on the ambient emotions that manifest beside the visual discourses and politics of transgender visibility. Barth is currently studying their Doctorate of Visual Arts at the Queensland College of Art.  Text
