Confronting Contemporary Art: Wtf….What the Fluxus?

Deadline:

September 10
Gallery of Modern Art (Online)

Unpack the big ideas and ‘art speak’ behind contemporary art, featuring artworks from QAGOMA’s Collection. Presented by Dr Louise R Mayhew, in conversation with special guest artist Sebastian Moody.

WTF….What the Fluxus?

Can I hang out with my friends and call it art? Can I sit in silence, unpeel an orange, or let myself fall and be an artist? In this session, explore Fluxus – the anti-art movement that promotes a ‘do-it-yourself’ attitude to creativity. Find out how everyday actions and objects can be transformed into art. Featuring artists like George Maciunas, Alison Knowles and Mieko Shiomi.

Event: Online – 10.30 – 11.30am Sat, 10 Sep 2022
