ARE YOU OUR NEXT EXHIBITIONS ASSISTANT?
Outer Space is hiring an Exhibitions Assistant to work closely with the team to deliver our diverse exhibition and engagement programs. This role will be 3 days a week for a initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting with the management and delivery of the multifaceted Outer Space exhibition program; including the Berwick St Window Vinyl & Facade Projection programs, at our Judith Wright Arts Centre location.

Managing the SUPERCUT project

Assisting with public programs and events

Volunteer Coordination
-
Work with the General Manager and contracted employees to produce and take down exhibitions, including but not limited to assistance with hanging of two-dimensional work, moving and placing sculptural objects, setting up AV equipment, and adjusting lighting.

Create and maintain both hardcopy and electronic files related to all Outer Space exhibitions, including artist agreements, end-of-exhibitions reports, invoice tracking and other relevant forms.
ABOUT YOU

Strong exhibitions management experience and knowledge of installation practices.

Passion for supporting emerging contemporary arts practices.

Comfortable and experienced with the physical demands of installation-related activities.

Flexible and able to coordinate with various individuals to meet deadlines.

Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a “get it done” personality.

Able to coordinate administration for various projects with high attention to detail, procedure, and paperwork/documentation.

Excellent written and oral communication skills
-
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a small but agile team.

Working knowledge of Google Apps (Gmail, Drive, etc.), MS Office Suite (Word and Excel), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)

Bachelor’s degree preferred, and/or relevant experience.
