Snack is a pop-up concept store within the Gallery Shop designed to platform functional, affordable products made by emerging artists. Be the first to view and purchase new and exciting products and get a chance to meet these talented makers.
Embracing queer, grunge and D.I.Y aesthetics, artist David Spooner creates soft sculptures and other handmade art objects from familiar domestic craft materials. They also have a concurrent practice of drawing everyday and publishing it on the world wide web (social media). The animals Spooner has featured for this series of work are snails and snakes- snake neck laces, door snakes and desk snails.
Gulnoza Akhmedova is a contemporary fibre artist, specialising in amigurumi and soft sculptures. Her playful creations often feature Australian birdlife and other whimsical characters. Gulnoza has been crafting since childhood and is interested in the capacity of domestic crafts as tools for storytelling and connection.
Come along to meet the artists, enjoy a free drink and browse an array of handmade soft sculptural treasures
Keep your eyes peeled for more Snack offerings regularly throughout the year.
