Postcards from Athens is a series of bold and energetic monotype prints inspired by the artist’s recent travels to Greece. Having been selected as finalist in the 2025 Australian Monoprint Prize, Jacqueline has recently been recognised for her talents in this medium.
Connecting with her Greek heritage, the artist followed her interest in classical reference points and spent time wandering the city of Athens, engaging with its neighbourhoods, museums and archaeology, noting how the ancient world sits alongside the contemporary.
Vibrant forms, colours, patterns and shapes fill these artworks, capturing the intensity of the city. The process of monoprinting involves painting directly onto a mesh screen and is time sensitive, so the artwork is completed before the paint begins to dry. This method allowed her to work in an intuitive and immediate way as evidenced in these dynamic and unique one-off prints.
For over a decade, Jacqueline has exhibited regularly in solo and group exhibitions. A graduate of Sydney College of the Arts at the University of Sydney, she completed her Master of Fine Arts in 2022. Jacqueline has been recognised for her work as a finalist in awards, which also include the Fisher’s Ghost Art Award. She was the winner of the 2022 Artereal Gallery Mentorship Award. Jacqueline has undertaken several residencies, including in Greece and Germany.
