Griffith University Art Museum presents Craig & Karl: Double Vision, a dynamic and playful exploration of one of Queensland’s most internationally recognised creative duos.

Employing their signature visual language—bold colour, graphic precision, and infectious joy—the exhibition highlights Craig & Karl’s three-decade-long partnership, their influence on global public art and design, and the enduring legacy of Griffith University’s Queensland College of Art & Design, where the pair first met almost 30 years ago.

Co-curated by Angela Goddard and Carrie McCarthy, the exhibition also celebrates Griffith University’s 50th anniversary. Beyond the gallery, Double Vision expands across all five Griffith campuses and into the city, with major public art outcomes in partnership with Brisbane City Council, Brisbane Festival, and Fish Lane Arts Precinct.

Craig Redman and Karl Maier first collaborated in 1996 after meeting as students in Brisbane. They co-founded the design collective Rinzen before establishing themselves globally as Craig & Karl in 2011. Their practice continues to reflect their Brisbane beginnings, infused with humour, joy, and optimism as they explore themes of community, identity, imagination, and love.

Opening Event: Thursday 4 September, 6–8pm
