ICG welcomes proposals from community, emerging, and established artists across all mediums. As a dynamic space for experimentation and exploration, the gallery provides opportunities for professional growth while engaging the local community with innovative and diverse projects.

Key Dates

  • Monday 15 September – Applications Open

  • Monday 20 October (COB) – Applications Close

  • Friday 31 October – Successful applicants notified

  • February 2026 – Exhibitions commence

What’s Included
Successful applicants will receive a two-week hire period with:

  • Marketing templates and promotion via ICG + Ipswich Art Workshop social media

  • Installation, artwork placement, and layout advice

  • Professional lighting by gallery staff

  • Access to gallery furniture, tool trolley, plinths, projector, kitchenette and catering supplies

  • Opportunity to apply for RADF Time and Space grant funding (up to $2,000)

  • Hire fees waived thanks to funding from the Ipswich Arts Foundation

What’s Expected

  • Install/demount exhibitions during hire period

  • Supervise the gallery during open hours (10am–3pm)

  • Manage sales and collection of artworks (no commission taken)

  • Follow gallery installation/display guidelines

  • Hold Public Liability Insurance

Who Should Apply?
Proposals are welcome from solo artists, groups, or collectives working in any medium, including installation, painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography, sound, and digital media.
Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate a connection with Ipswich or highlight their project’s relevance to the community.
