Backbone Festival: Look Up

Deadline:

9 October
-
October 25
Seven Hills Hub

The Backbone Festival returns this October with Look Up — a bold, three-week program of performance, sound, and visual art transforming Seven Hills Hub into a thriving site of curiosity, resistance, and imagination.

Brisbane’s leading youth arts organisation, Backbone Youth Arts, invites audiences to “look up from the noise” and engage with a generation of makers redefining what it means to create. Across live performances, installations, and participatory experiences, the festival explores what happens when young artists take the lead in shaping culture, conversation, and community.

Opening Night
Date: Thursday 9 October 2025
Time: 6:00 pm onwards

Immerse yourself in a constellation of live acts, installations, and DJ sets. Expect performance snippets from Doppelklang by Kelsey Dell & Kerrod Box, Fantasies by Evie Ford & Bee-Bee Riot, art installations by FUSE artists, and a set by DJ Richie LeStrange.
Free event — RSVP via Backbone’s website.

About the Festival
Look Up calls on audiences to dream big, make noise, and notice what’s just out of reach. Through bold experimentation and collaboration, Backbone Festival celebrates art that is curious, untamed, and joyfully resistant — a showcase of the best and brightest young artists in Magandjin (Brisbane).
