The Harden Art Prize celebrates the beauty, diversity, and creativity of Australian landscape painting. Based in the twin towns of Harden–Murrumburrah in regional New South Wales, this prestigious national award has become a significant fixture on the Australian arts calendar.
Offering $15,000 in prize money, the Harden Art Prize invites both emerging and established artists to interpret the Australian landscape through watercolour, acrylic, or oil painting. Each entry begins with an online submission, with selected finalists invited to send physical works for exhibition and final judging in Harden–Murrumburrah.
More than just a competition, the Harden Art Prize is an invitation to see the land through artistic eyes — to connect with regional creativity and the stories, colours, and textures that define Australia’s diverse landscapes.
The 2026 Harden Art Prize Exhibition will run from 18–26 April 2026 at the Harden Arts Council (Old Court House), showcasing finalists’ works in a vibrant community event supported by Community Bank Harden Bendigo Bank and the Geoffrey Kruger Trust.
