Alesandro Ljubicic is one of Australia’s most successful, globally exhibited and collected artists and is coming to Brisbane on November 20 with his first solo show at Studio Gallery in Wandoo Street.
Known for his distinct use of colour and bold contemporary florals, Ljubicic continues to attract national attention with his work, which was recently showcased at Art Miami and the Mondrian Gold Coast.
This new body of work Floral Resilience draws on Ljubicic’s personal experience arriving in Australia as a refugee from Bosnia and the healing, identity, and the beauty that can grow from adversity.
“Flowers have always been a symbol of resilience in my life,” says Ljubicic. “They remind us that beauty can survive turmoil.”
In celebration of the exhibition, Alesandro proudly supports Polished Man, an organisation that takes a visible stand against violence towards women and children. Anyone who donates to the organisation will go into the draw to win one of Alesandro’s artworks.
The opening event on Thursday, November 20, will be attended by Ljubicic, alongside his wife Monika Radulovic, former Miss Universe Australia and cast member of Survivor Australia.
