Yield is a contemporary unearthing of Australia’s cultivated identity, delving into the deep impacts of agricultural history on the landscapes, cultures, and communities of today. Featuring works from local, national, and internationally recognised artists, the exhibition traces the legacies of early agricultural practices—beginning with the pioneering work of local figure Dr Joseph Bancroft, a leader in experimental agriculture and medicine.
Through sculpture, installation, moving image, and mixed media, the exhibiting artists reflect on how land use, colonial systems, and inherited structures continue to shape our present. Yield invites audiences to engage critically and reflectively with the past while considering the ongoing relationship between land, labour, culture, and identity.
The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive public program including daily highlight tours, talks, workshops, and hands-on drop-in activities for all ages—encouraging visitors to connect more deeply with the themes and artists involved.
