The Sunshine Coast National Art Prize 2026 is now open to Australian residents working in any 2D medium and new media.

This national acquisitive prize recognises outstanding contemporary visual arts practice across Australia. Since 2006, the exhibition has presented finalist works from artists nationwide, celebrating innovation and excellence in 2D and new media artforms.

The Major Prize-winning work will be acquired into the Sunshine Coast Art Collection. In addition to the $25,000 Major Prize, awards include a $5,000 Highly Commended Award, a $2,500 People’s Choice Award and an Artist Residency Prize valued at $5,000.

All national transit costs are covered by the gallery, with no additional expense required from finalists to transport work to the venue.
