Untether Gallery invites artists to participate in WHIM, an open group exhibition exploring spontaneity, imagination, and playful curiosity.
The exhibition centres on the idea of “whim” as a moment where imagination drifts beyond the sensible—embracing surprise, humour, and the unexpected. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme freely, responding through any medium in ways that celebrate creative mischief and exploration.
This is an inclusive open call, with all entries accepted provided they meet the terms and conditions.

- Open to all artists working in any medium (2D and 3D)
- Maximum of 6 works per artist
- All artworks must be for sale
- Pricing must include 30% gallery commission (+ GST on commission)
Entry Fees
2D Works:
- Up to 65cm: $30 per artwork ($25 members)
- Up to 100cm: $60 per artwork ($55 members)
3D Works:
- Smaller works: $30 per artwork ($25 members)
- Larger works: $60 per artwork ($55 members)

- Entries close: Sunday 10 May 2026 (or earlier if filled)
- Exhibition: 21 May – 6 June 2026
- Opening event: Saturday 23 May, 1:30 – 3:30pm
Delivery Dates:
- Thursday 14 May (11am – 6pm)
- Friday 15 May (11am – 4pm)
- Saturday 16 May (11am – 6pm, final delivery)
Collection (unsold works):
- Saturday 6 June, 4pm – 6pm
Important Notes
- Works must be ready to hang or display (no temporary labelling)
- Artists are responsible for insurance during transit and exhibition
- Untether Gallery reserves the right to refuse works deemed unsafe or inappropriate
