Sapporo Tenjinyama Art Studio welcomes applications for its ongoing artist residency program, offering self-funded residencies of up to three months in one of Japan’s leading public art centres.
Located within Tenjinyama Park in Sapporo, the residency provides studio apartments, shared creative facilities and opportunities to engage with the local community through exhibitions, workshops and public programs. The studio accommodates artists from a wide range of disciplines, including visual art, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, performance, literature and music.
Established to coincide with the inaugural Sapporo International Art Festival, the residency encourages artistic research, experimentation and cultural exchange while providing access to Hokkaido’s distinctive landscape and creative community. Periodic open-call programs also offer selected artists production support and exhibition opportunities.
