J.N. Fountain (Jared) is an Australian classical painter exploring the archetypal and mythological dimensions of human experience. His practice centres on the figure of the Outsider and the journey into the Underworld — a descent into darkness, confrontation and the possibility of transformation.
Drawing on personal experience, dreams, literature and mythology, Fountain transforms inward experiences into visual narratives. His classical painting practice is influenced by the Old Masters, particularly Rembrandt and Titian, as well as Corneliu Baba and Odd Nerdrum. After completing a Bachelor of Creative Arts in Australia, he pursued the traditions of the Old Masters and studied with Norwegian painter Odd Nerdrum in 2025.
