Four-week residencies; the residency period begins on the first Monday of the month and ends on the last Friday of the month. Applications are accepted year-round.
AGALAB’s Artist-in-Residence program supports research, experimentation and the development of new work, providing artists with 24/7 access to professional printmaking facilities, technical expertise, workspace and a network of local and international artists, designers and makers.
Six residency places are available: two with accommodation and four without. The program is intended primarily for artists with some experience in printmaking and print techniques, although artists with limited or no experience are also welcome to apply. Additional introductory workshops can be arranged for artists new to particular techniques.
Facilities include screenprinting on paper and textiles, analogue photography, etching, Toyobo polymer plate printing, lithography, linocut, woodcut and letterpress.
Residency fees are €500 without accommodation, €750 for a duo residency, or €1,450 including accommodation. A €100 materials deposit applies, while materials are charged separately.
Recent graduates who completed their studies between 2024 and 2026 are eligible for a 50% discount on the residency fee, excluding accommodation.
Residents are expected to present work developed during the residency in the final exhibition at De Bouwput Gallery and donate two prints made during the residency to the AGALAB archive.
Applications require an application form, short motivation letter, CV and portfolio. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis, with AGALAB aiming to respond within four weeks.
