SMALL! 2026 is fortyfivedownstairs’ sixth annual open-call exhibition for small-scale artworks. The exhibition is open to all artists, from child artists and first-time creators through to established professionals, with every submitted artwork displayed in the gallery.
All media are welcome, including painting, drawing, photography, prints, textiles and small sculptural works. Works must not exceed 20 × 20 cm, including framing, and must be suitable for wall hanging. AI-generated artwork will not be accepted.
Every artwork will be priced at $160 and displayed anonymously, with the artist’s identity revealed to the buyer only after a work is sold. Prizes include Under 18, Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Sculpture, Photography, Textile, Mixed Media and People’s Choice awards.
Discounted entry fees are available for First Nations artists. Entries are limited to 1,000 submissions and entry fees are non-refundable.
