Waverley Council is offering professional artists a fully subsidised studio in Bondi for a 12-month residency.
The program is open to emerging, mid-career and professional artists interested in working within Bondi and the greater eastern suburbs area.
Artists will receive:
- Fully subsidised studio space for 12 months
- Paid professional development opportunities
- Opportunities including exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, public art projects and live art opportunities
- Professional development opportunities paid at the standard NAVA rate
Successful applicants are required to participate in a compulsory open studio event during the second-last month of their residency. The event will showcase work produced during the residency to curators, artists, funding bodies and the community.
Applicants must provide:
- Biography and artistic practice rationale, up to 250 words
- Expected outcomes and goals for the 12-month residency, up to 300 words
- Statement explaining why the studios would benefit their practice, up to 250 words
- Artistic CV of no more than two pages
- Nine indicative images of their work
Applicants can nominate professional development interests including artist talks, art workshops, kids programming, exhibitions and community group workshops.
The studio is located at the Waverley Woollahra Art School, 138 Bondi Road, Bondi.
