Grafton Regional Gallery invites all artists who reside in Australia to submit drawings in the 2014 Jacaranda Acquisitive Drawing Award (JADA). The award aims to promote excellence and innovation in Australian drawing.
Entries are now open for the $40,000 award, which promotes innovation, display excellence and imagination in Australian drawing. The major award of $20,000 is acquisitive, along with further acquisitions to the value of $20,000.
The judge for JADA 2014 is the Sydney Morning Herald’s art critic for the past 30 years, John McDonald. He has written for many Australian and international publications, was Head of Australian Art at the National Gallery of Australia from 1999 to 2000, written numerous monographs on artists and has been curator for a wide range of exhibitions.
Entry is open to all artists who live in Australia. Each artist may submit up to two drawings.
Entries close at 4.00pm on Friday 1 August 2014.
