Griffith University Art Museum presents Undying, a major solo exhibition by acclaimed Australian sculptor Abdul-Rahman Abdullah.

Commissioned by the Chau Chak Wing Museum, The University of Sydney, the exhibition brings together intricately carved and painted sculptures exploring humanity’s relationship with life, death, the afterlife and the natural world. Inspired by the Museum’s natural history and antiquity collections, each sculpture is accompanied by a text written by Abdullah reflecting on the animal depicted and its symbolic significance.

Curated by Katrina Liberiou, Undying draws on the artist’s diverse cultural heritage and personal history to examine interconnectedness, storytelling and our responsibilities towards other living beings.

The opening celebration includes an artist talk and exhibition walkthrough at 5:30pm, followed by the exhibition opening from 6:00–8:00pm on Thursday 13 August. Admission is free, with RSVP requested.
