A Grave Reminder, video installation, 2011

A combination of decomposition and absence, my photographic art process is positioned to act as an autopsy on the human condition; to invite society to look beyond the exterior layers of self and the surrounding world, and acknowledge truths that they mayhave otherwise wished to deny. Through various processes of degradation and erasure, surreal surrogate identities are created; unidentifiable, yet pained and disfigured by the photographic/cinematic conventions they find themselves bound by. These subjects stand as metaphors for psychological anxiety/fear, relating to themes of mortality, spirituality and identity.
