Ali Bezer: Open Space

21st November - 16th December

Woolloongabba Art Gallery

The creative impetus for the artworks featured in Open Space stemmed from my experience during an ongoing residency at St Andrews War Memorial Hospital, where I had the rare opportunity to see directly inside the human body. The operating theatre was a portal into an otherwise inaccessible world similar to how the telescope reveals the disturbing and alluring scenery of the universe. As an artist I am interested in exploring the human body uncontained by its shell, as if our interior space is a nexus between visceral and cosmic landscapes. ~ Ali Bezer 2017

Opening: Saturday afternoon, 25 November 3pm – 6pm
