Anna Carey is a Gold Coast based artist whose practice overlaps both photography and sculpture. With memory and recall as the only reference of permanency, she interweaves model making, drawing and photography to create fictive architectural spaces from her immediate urban environment, the Gold Coast.
Anna Carey has a Bachelor of Digital Media majoring in Fine Art and Art Theory, with Honours (first class), from Griffith University. She has exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Sydney and Brisbane and in 2011 was a finalist in both the Churchie Emerging Art Prize and the Queensland Regional Art Awards.
Her work can be found in a number of collections, both corporate and private, including the Artbank collection.
