Expressions of interest are now open for shows and locations to be part of 2023 Anywhere Festival. Anywhere Festival happens 4-21 May 2023 in nooks and crannies anywhere but a theatre anywhere in Brisbane.
Anyone can apply to present a performance or to have a performance at their business or home.
Anywhere Festival is a globally unique and local cultural experience for locals and visitors alike: where local businesses and homes host performances so artists can creative incredible work without all the financial burdens that are often placed on them when presenting independently.
Anywhere Festival began in 2011 as Brisbane’s revolutionary take on the fringe festival concept, putting artists first so they could take creative risks without the financial risks with rent free non traditional spaces, creative development support, producing resources and festival marketing that helps build audiences.
For audiences, Anywhere Festival becomes a discovery of places and performances by using local nooks and crannies: poetry in light houses, circus in driveways, music in backyards, storytelling on ferries, theatre in hedge mazes and musicals in aeroplanes.
