About Argo:
Argo are two composers, performers and cross-disciplinary artists from Brisbane, Australia. With a background in classical music, Connor D’Netto and Ben Heim create new works and performances which bend the boundaries of genre and art form, focusing on experiential and concept driven events that fuse traditional instruments with contemporary influences and new modes of musical expression.
“Upon viewing Light Play: Ideas, Optics, Atmosphere, we were immediately engaged by the contrasting concepts and variety of visual mediums. By taking direct and indirect influence from the artworks, we have created a series of works to guide the audience through exhibition, placing musical art alongside visual art to highlight, contrast and compliment. The music draws equal influence from the artwork’s visual patterning and colour as from the ideas and emotion embodied in the art. Throughout, the audience is encouraged to experience the event from the vantage of their choosing – moving freely around the space following musical, visual and artist ideas at their leisure.”
