The Art for Takayna Residency is an annual artist residency hosted by the Bob Brown Foundation in the wild and ancient forests of Takayna, north-west Lutruwita/Tasmania. Over five days, artists immerse themselves in the landscape and create work inspired by its ecosystems, with the residency culminating in a fundraising exhibition supporting the campaign to protect Takayna.
Artists are expected to create at least one work for exhibition and sale within 12 months of the residency. Successful applicants can purchase a place on a pay-as-you-can sliding scale of $80–$580, which contributes towards shared residency costs, equipment, vehicle hire and 11 vegan meals.
