The Royal Queensland Art Society Brisbane Branch presents the May edition of ART TALKS, exploring the enduring relevance of Daphne Mayo’s life and legacy.
This discussion considers Mayo’s influence as an artist and cultural advocate, reflecting on her roles as RQAS Vice-President, Life Member, Foundation Member of the Australian Academy of Art, co-establisher of the Art Reference Library at The University of Queensland, trustee and fundraiser for the Queensland Art Gallery, and recipient of an MBE in 1959.
The talk will be presented by Richard Blundell FRQAS, an independent scholar, painter, printmaker and educator whose interests span action-research, community studies, bioregionalism and meditative practices.
Afternoon tea is included in the ticket price.
